RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an Environmental Service Worker for RWJ Hamilton Hospital in the Evening shift. You will help create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff, directly supporting infection prevention and patient care.

This Part-time role emphasizes teamwork and adherence to safety standards. You will disinfect rooms, manage waste, stock supplies, and lift up to 50 pounds while working in a hospital setting with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospital housekeeping preferred.
• Comfortable with physically active work and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and hospital policies.
• Familiarity with Joint Commission standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, bathrooms, operating rooms, and assigned areas.
• Perform trash removal, sweeping, mopping, and other environmental service duties per policy.
• Properly handle medical, hazardous, and pharmaceutical waste.
• Clean surgical equipment and isolation areas as assigned.
• Maintain stock of supplies and chemicals.
• Work independently while meeting department quality standards.
• Lift, pull, and push up to 50 pounds.
• Support compliance with Joint Commission and Department of Health standards.
