Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Histology professional to perform a range of laboratory tests and tissue processing in a clinical lab or dermatology setting.

Under supervision, you will prepare tissue samples, perform quality control, and maintain laboratory equipment. A high school diploma and at least 1 year of histology experience are required. A signing bonus may be available and there is a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in histology.
• Follows established protocols and performs routine and some complex tests.
• Maintains supplies and equipment and ensures safety and chemical hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Follows established protocols to perform various procedures and tests, including the most complex for an assigned area.
• Organizes and maintains the laboratory and chemical supplies in a manner consistent with needed safety standards.
• Performs routine procedures and quality control, logs specimens, and prepares them for microscopic examination.
• Prepares human tissue from surgical and diagnostic sources and ensures proper staining and labeling.
• Maintains equipment and participates in continuing education as required.
