Position Summary

Lees Marketplace is looking for friendly, hardworking, and reliable individuals to join their Grocery Team as Grocery Clerks (Stockers). As a Grocery Clerk, you will assist with shipment loads by unloading trucks and stocking/displaying shelf-stable items on our main sales floor. You will also help maintain and organize the backroom where supplies are kept and ensure our guests have easy access to all products by pulling all products forward with labels facing out, a process we call Facing. While stocking shelves, Grocery Clerks have the opportunity to interact and build relationships with the community by assisting with product location needs and more.

Primary Position Duties

1. Develop maximum customer relations through friendly and courteous behavior.
2. Promote high morale within the department and store by utilizing friendly yet professional communication.
3. Provide a safe, clean, and positive environment; build a culture based on relationships and continuous improvement.
4. Follow all company policies, procedures, programs, and directives; refer to the Team Member Handbook regularly. Promote a harassment-free environment and report any harmful situations to management.
5. Continuously build knowledge and skills through training and education for self and team members.
6. Attend departmental, store, and company meetings as required; contribute to profits and revenues, and meet productivity standards.
7. Handle products properly, including case cutting, price marking, rotation, and display.
8. Meet productivity standards, achieving established cases per man-hour and price changes per man-hour goals.
9. Maintain a well-stocked store through effective inventory control in line with guidelines.
10. Report pricing discrepancies or out-of-stocks to the Grocery Manager.
11. Assist in building store displays as directed by the Grocery Manager and Assistant Grocery Manager.
12. Use equipment properly and safely to prevent injuries.
13. Help customers locate items and provide information as needed.
14. Assist with checkout, bagging, and carryout services courteously and promptly.
15. Stock and display products efficiently, avoiding damage.
16. Keep the backroom clean and organized, storing excess and damaged products properly.
17. Ensure all products are faced with labels forward.

Position Requirements

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY, WE TRAIN!!

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Lifting Requirements: Ability to lift 50+ pounds
• Equipment: Use of pallet jack, forklift, box-cutter, and other tools required
• Physical Abilities: Ability to walk, stand, sit, twist, bend, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements; occasional stooping, crouching, kneeling, or climbing
• Communication: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand spoken language; interpret safety and operational documents
