Job summary

FedEx Freight is hiring for a dock/warehouse associate in Indianapolis. The starting rate is $21.16 per hour with shift 1500-2100. You will transport freight between dock areas and trailers, operate equipment, verify freight docs, secure cargo, and assist customers.

The role requires basic math, strong teamwork, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds multiple times daily. Prior warehouse or forklift experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift operations preferred.
• If hostler/yard mule duties required, experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight of varying weights several times a week, to lift dock plates weighing approximately 100 pounds, and to open trailer doors requiring approximately 75 pounds of lift force, up to several times per day or more.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading to trailers.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck as required.
• Verify documentation matches freight description using the system.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation.
