Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock‑level operator in New Jersey to move freight across dock areas and between trailers. You will use forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck to load and secure cargo, verify documentation, and assist customers with paperwork.

The role may involve hostling duties and requires adherence to safety rules and company policies. Starting rate is $22.77 per hour with potential for higher pay up to $26.64 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience in warehousing or forklift operations preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack and hand truck for freight handling.
• Verify freight documentation matches description.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required reports and documentation.
• Assist customers with freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
