Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Richmond, VA is seeking a reliable forklift driver for our high-volume shipping bay. You will operate an industrial forklift, track loads, unload trucks, and assist with banding pallets as needed.

You’ll use RF scanners and Corrugated Manufacturing systems, following safety procedures and documenting all movements. Training occurs on day shift, with potential shift to 7p-7a; we value dependability, teamwork, and accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Forklift experience in a high-volume environment is preferred.
• Forklift certification within last 12 months preferred.
• Able to read and interpret documents and perform basic arithmetic.
• Must maintain good attendance and be willing to work overtime/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Inspect forklift daily and document safety checks.
• Safely track and move materials throughout the facility.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area.
• Load and unload trucks per standards and customer needs.
• Use RF scanner for receipts and inventory updates.
• Verify counts and descriptions of products received or shipped.
• Support production lines by delivering pallets as needed.
• Palletize or shrink wrap units and complete paperwork.
