Job summary

Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in Grand Rapids is seeking a Food Service Worker for the PM shift. The role involves preparing and serving meals, following safety standards, and maintaining sanitation in kitchen and dining areas.

You will handle food prep, storage, and customer service, with a starting hourly wage of $18.00 and weekend rotation. A high school diploma or GED is preferred; ServSafe/food handler certification is recommended.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
• 1 - 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Food Handler’s Permit by applicable state and county.
• ServSafe training and certificate as required by applicable state and county.

Responsibilities

• Prep work including washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding vegetables and fruits along with weighing and measuring designated ingredients.
• Carries pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from workstations, stove, and refrigerator while maintaining all safety standards.
• Properly stores foods in designated areas following wrapping, dating, and food safety and rotation procedures.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Distributes supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
• Utilizes approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
• Serves customers in an efficient and friendly manner following outlined steps of service.
• Resolves customer concerns and relays relevant information to supervisor.
• Interacts with co-workers to ensure compliance with company service standards, and inventory and cash control procedures.
• Assures compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
• Other duties that may be assigned.
