Good Samaritan is seeking a Food Service Assistant at the GSS IA Algona Ctr in Algona, IA. The role supports food service operations during the evening shift, handling food preparation, serving, sanitation, and cash handling, with emphasis on HACCP compliance and customer service.

The position is part-time with an estimated weekly 12 hours, offering a pathway to develop in a not-for-profit senior services environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16.
• Previous customer service experience, retail counting and reconciliation of money preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• On-the-job training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and record proper temperature of food and maintain sanitation in serving areas.
• Prepare and serve food items and restock food areas.
• Operate cash register and process payments; ensure accuracy in transactions.
• Demonstrate HACCP compliance and provide excellent customer service.
