Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a dedicated Floor Care Technician to join our Environmental Services team on the evening shift. You will maintain flooring surfaces including carpet, vinyl, rubber, and ceramic to established standards, contributing to a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Responsibilities include carpet extraction, stripping and buffing hard floors, operating buffers and extractors, and maintaining equipment while following infection prevention protocols.

Qualifications

• Previous floor care or environmental services experience preferred.
• Ability to operate and maintain floor care equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and time management skills.
• Ability to lift, push, and maneuver equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Clean, maintain, and restore flooring surfaces using approved methods and equipment.
• Perform routine and deep cleaning of carpets, including extraction and spot treatment.
• Strip, wax, buff, and polish hard floors (vinyl, rubber, ceramic, etc.).
• Operate floor care equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, and extractors safely and effectively.
• Follow infection prevention and safety protocols at all times.
• Maintain equipment and ensure proper storage and care of tools and supplies.
• Respond promptly to service requests and address spills or hazards as needed.
• Adhere to Environmental Services policies and standard operating procedures.
