Job summary

The Facilities Group National is seeking a Floor Tech for the Evening Shift in Columbia, SC. The role involves daily cleaning, stripping, waxing, and buffing floors, plus carpet spot removal and trash disposal.

You will operate floor buffers, extractors and vacuums, using PPE when handling chemicals. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, prior janitorial or floor care experience, knowledge of cleaning equipment, and the ability to pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Background check clearance required.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. (We Use E-Verify).
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning offices, hallways, common areas.
• Moving furniture before and after cleaning.
• Cleaning, dusting, mopping, stripping, and waxing floors.
• Operating floor equipment including extractors and buffing machines.
• Use hand and power tools such as polishers, vacuums, mops, and strippers.
• Inspect floors for damage and perform minor repairs.
• Measure chemicals correctly and operate dispensing units.
• Label chemicals correctly.
• Maintain and store equipment and PPE properly.
• Keep inventory of floor areas and schedule cleaning.
• Report maintenance issues to supervisor.
• Assist with hazardous waste collection as requested.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
