Job summary

Oberlin College is seeking a student worker to serve as a figure drawing life model for weekly sessions on Thursday evenings, ~3 hours per week, from 5:45pm to 9:15pm. The model will pose clothed and support setup, posing, and safety under the session monitor.

Ideal candidates are actively enrolled Oberlin College students with the ability to hold poses for 1–30 minutes and to participate in a respectful, private environment. Previous life modeling experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Applicant must be an actively enrolled student of Oberlin College.
• Adequate ability to stand and sit/recline in dynamic poses for extended periods of time (1–30 minutes).
• Ability to twist, turn, bend and accentuate 3‑dimensional qualities of the figure in poses.
• Previous experience with life modeling and drawing sessions is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Arrive prepared, assist in setting up/breaking down the space, and stay for the duration of the session.
• Hold reasonably comfortable poses (single standing, seated, or reclined) for a set period of time.
• Communicate with the session monitor to run the session smoothly and safely.
