Job summary

Aitkin County is seeking a custodial worker to keep county buildings clean, sanitary, safe, and welcoming. Duties include cleaning restrooms, floors, offices and common areas, emptying garbage, restocking supplies, and periodic deep cleaning.

The role may also assist with minor building maintenance, groundskeeping, snow removal, and other projects as needed. Hours: Monday through Thursday 2:00 pm -10:30 pm & Friday 9:00 am – 5:30 pm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Must have the physical ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work second shift hours.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains county buildings to keep them safe and attractive.
• Empty wastebaskets, mop and disinfect floors, clean restrooms, and restock supplies.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely and assist with light maintenance and groundskeeping as needed.
• Report signs of vandalism and secure buildings when necessary.
