Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Environmental Services teammate at the Milwaukee facility to clean patient care areas, restrooms, lobbies, and offices. The role supports infection control by keeping surfaces and equipment clean and well-maintained.

Strong attention to safety and teamwork is essential. The position requires ability to follow written and oral instructions, basic computer skills, and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow and understand oral and written instructions and communicate with others.
• Ability to work alone and to understand the physical arrangements of the facilities.
• Performs tasks without disrupting operations of the doctors, nurses, patients, public, and other staff.
• Ability to set priorities, be aware of and follow department policies and procedures in all situations.
• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Cleans patient care areas, surgical areas, restrooms, conference rooms, lobbies, offices, elevators and stairwells.
• Cleans environmental surfaces including ceilings, walls, doors, furniture, beds, fixtures and windows; assists with spill cleanup.
• Dusts and damp mops floors in patient and exam areas, corridors and restrooms.
• Replaces cubicle/window coverings and prepares delivery of supplies.
• Sorts, stocks and transports linens; handles soiled linen for transport.
• Cleans and prepares units and equipment used in patient care and distributes non-medical supplies.
• Fills and cleans supply dispensers and inventories cleaning supplies.
• Inventories linens and paper supplies and orders as needed; keeps closets organized.
• Reports mechanical failures or unsafe conditions to supervisor.
