Job summary

Porter Medical Center is seeking an Environmental Services Supervisor to oversee housekeeping and laundry operations, ensuring a clean, safe, and sanitary environment. The role includes supervising staff, training, and maintaining compliance with safety and infection-control standards.

The supervisor will monitor workflow, manage supplies and records, and participate in performance evaluations to support a high-quality environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 3 years of experience in institutional housekeeping; supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of housekeeping equipment and cleaning supplies.
• Ability to maintain accurate record-keeping and documentation.
• CHEST certification is preferred/required.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and good public relations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily housekeeping and laundry operations, ensuring safety and sanitation.
• Train and orient new employees on cleaning procedures, chemical safety, and equipment use.
• Monitor workflow and quality of cleaning through facility tours and checklists.
• Issue and track supplies, maintain records, and report equipment repairs promptly.
• Provide in-service training and assist with performance evaluations and staff counseling.
