Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring a Full-Time Environmental Services Technician I for the Suffolk, VA area. This evening shift role (3-11 PM) focuses on maintaining a clean, safe environment for patients, families, and staff across patient rooms, hallways, and common areas.

Responsibilities include cleaning, spill response, and waste disposal, with opportunities for cross-training and professional growth within a collaborative team focused on infection prevention and high-quality service.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent (or 1 year housekeeping/ESD experience in lieu of HS diploma)
• Required: Communication, Reading Comprehension, Service Orientation, Speaking

Responsibilities

• Maintain assigned areas in a clean and sanitary condition.
• Perform tasks such as dusting, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing.
• Follow established protocols for safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Ensure proper collection, handling, and disposal of waste according to regulatory standards.
• Respond promptly to spills and urgent cleaning needs.
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily cleaning and sanitation goals.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation protocols and infection prevention standards.
