Job summary

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Full‑time Night Shift Environmental Services Tech I (Housekeeper) to maintain clean and sanitary patient areas and support the Environmental Services Department.

The role covers night shifts from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., every other weekend, with emphasis on safety, infection prevention, and teamwork to meet daily cleaning goals for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equivalent is required.
• 1 year housekeeping/ESD experience preferred.
• Customer Service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain assigned areas in a clean and sanitary condition.
• Dust, mop, scrub, and polish surfaces.
• Follow established protocols for safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Ensure proper collection, handling, and disposal of waste according to regulatory standards.
• Respond promptly to spills and urgent cleaning needs.
• Collaborate with team to meet daily cleaning and sanitation goals.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation protocols and infection prevention standards.
• Respond promptly to service requests and uphold a high standard of cleanliness.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe environment.
• Follow safety procedures and infection prevention guidelines.
