Job summary

Merrimack Health in Methuen, MA, seeks an ED support technician to assist with patient care in the Emergency Department during evening shifts. You will help with EKGs, vitals, transport, and triage-related tasks under the supervision of registered nurses.

Responsibilities include obtaining vital signs, assisting with exams, stocking, room turnover, and acting as a liaison between patients, families and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• CNA, EMT or graduate of Medical Assistant program.
• BCLS required.
• Demonstrates clinical competency within the scope of practice of applicable certification.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate at the high school level.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical tasks including EKG, vital signs, wound care and patient activities of daily living.
• Performs specimen collection under nurse direction.
• Assist providers with diagnostic procedures and exams.
• Performs visual acuity testing and documents results.
• Stocking and checklists in the department as directed.
• Clean rooms and assist with patient discharge流程.
