Job summary

CoxHealth South in Springfield, MO is seeking an Emergency Department RN to provide professional nursing care during the initial phase of acute illness or trauma for patients of all ages. The ED nurse triages, prioritizes care, stabilizes patients, initiates treatment, and coordinates discharge or transfer when needed.

Education: Required graduation from an accredited nursing program; Preferred BSN. Licensure/Certification: MO RN license, BLS within 90 days, ACLS and PALS within 1 year, ENPC

Qualifications

• Must hold an RN license active in Missouri
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire
• ACLS within one year of hire
• PALS within one year of hire
• ENPC within 12 months of hire
• TNCC within 12 months of hire
• NRC within 12 months of hire (as Primary RN for emergent pediatric care)

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care during the initial phase of acute illness or trauma for patients of all ages
• Triage and determine priority of care based on physical, psychological and social needs
• Stabilize the patient and initiate treatment
• Discharge the patient after the emergency is over or arrange for a longer hospital stay
