Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock/warehouse associate to transport freight across dock areas and load freight onto trailers. The role requires operating forklifts and related equipment, verifying freight documentation, and securing cargo for safe transit.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to lift up to 100 lbs, and readiness to work in a fast-paced dock environment. OT/hours vary by operational need; 18+ and prior warehousing experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling or forklift experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight up to 100+ lbs, lift dock plates ~75 lbs, open trailer doors.
• Physical ability to bend, twist, squat, and maneuver freight.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift and other equipment to move freight.
• Verify freight documentation matches description.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Follow laws, regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
