Job summary

Bennington College seeks a Utility and Dishroom Worker to join the Dining Services team. You will help keep dishware and kitchen areas clean, supporting dining operations for students, faculty, staff, and guests. The role emphasizes sanitation, teamwork, and efficient service across multiple dining locations.

Qualifications

• High School graduate and/or GED equivalent required; large-scale food production preferred.
• Completion of ServSafe and HazCom training; familiarity with chemical safety data sheets.
• Good personal cleanliness and hygiene; strong customer service orientation.
• Ability to follow written and spoken instructions and multi-task effectively.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper soap, water temperature, and sanitizer levels for cleaning dishes and utensils.
• Inspect dish machine and maintain sanitation of equipment and kitchen areas.
• Sweep, scrub, mop assigned areas and clean kitchen equipment after meals.
• Remove trash, monitor receptacle use, and stock cleaning materials as needed.
• Assist with food product storage, setup, and service for functions as required.
• Maintain safe work environment and adhere to safety and sanitation standards.
