Job summary

A community support organization located in Cheswick is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to empower individuals with disabilities. This role supports clients in daily living activities and promotes their independence. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, strong communication skills, and a compassionate demeanor. This full-time position requires a valid driver's license and participation in all onboarding requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; further education in a related field is a plus.
• Previous experience in direct support, caregiving, or a related field preferred.
• Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willing to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Support clients in daily living activities, including personal care and meal preparation.
• Foster a positive and respectful relationship with clients.
• Assist clients in developing skills for everyday living.
• Document client progress and maintain accurate records.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
