Job summary

Ebenezer is seeking a Dietary Assistant/Server to provide dining room meal service to our senior residents at the Skilled Nursing Facility in Minneapolis, MN, and to maintain supplies in the kitchenettes. This role offers a foot-in-the-door opportunity for someone pursuing a medical career or a student.

The position is part-time, with 24 hours every two weeks, evenings 4pm–7pm, and every other weekend and holiday, plus a partial benefits package.

Qualifications

• No previous experience required, but prefer work experience in a customer service setting.
• Excellent customer service skills and proficiency, teamwork and positive demeanor required.
• Desire to work with seniors and interact compassionately with residents and staff.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Serves prepared meals to residents and ensures the dining area is clean and inviting.
• Promotes and encourages positive resident relations and happiness with their meal service.
• Sanitizes equipment, work areas and maintains supplies.
• Assists with meal prep and special events.
• Provides kitchen support when needed with dishwashing and cleaning of floors.
• Answers phones and communicates requests appropriately.
