Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in human services (or equivalent) and 2 years of experience OR 4 years of experience with at-risk youth in a residential setting.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, weekend, and holidays.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively perform agency-approved restraint techniques.
• Ability to work with an economically and culturally diverse population.
• Capable of working in a stressful environment.
• Able to become TCI, First/Aid CPR certified.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, counsels, and instructs facility residents in daily living, recreational, and educational activities.
• Assists staff with training compliance and provides security screening of staff and visitors.
• Coordinates and assists in training compliance for staff.
• Provides supervision of residents and implementation of program activities.
• Maintains narrative logs and reviews for accuracy.
• Manages visitation between residents, family, and court-approved visitors.
• Assists resident phone calls as needed.
• Provides guidance and counsel to juveniles and participates with professionals in treatment strategies.
• Attends casework planning meetings and maintains records.
• Supervises safety and security procedures; completes follow-up reports after incidents.
• Direct supervision of residents as required.
• Conducts random security checks and logs findings.
• Ensures residents are cared for in a safe, structured environment.
• Performs other related activities as needed.
