Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Food Service Attendant for full-time Evening/Night shifts with every other weekend and holiday rotation in Altoona, PA. The role involves preparing and serving high-quality foods, cashier duties, and maintaining sanitation per policy.

Responsibilities include monitoring meal service, preparing recipes per production sheets, using and cleaning equipment safely, and ensuring proper food safety and storage. High school diploma or GED required; prior cashier experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to accurately count and perform basic mathematical functions.
• Excellent customer skills required.
• Ability to use the Point of Sale (POS) system required.
• Previous cashier experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor food volumes throughout service to ensure volume needs are met.
• Prepare both hot and cold food items, Grab and Go items, and assembly components.
• Operate and clean equipment safely as per guidelines.
• Chill, store, and record prepared and leftover foods per regulations.
• Maintain sanitation and safety in the work area.
• Operate cash register and follow cash handling procedures.
• Provide courteous customer service; support team lead as needed.
