Job summary

SBM West Greenwich, RI is seeking a Custodian to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across assigned facilities. The role includes operating motorized cleaning equipment, following daily schedules, and supporting the team with routine tasks.

Hazardous waste duties, waste labeling, and reporting incidents to supervision are part of the job. A driver's license may be required; bilingual ability is a plus. Competitive hourly pay and stable shifts offered.

Qualifications

• No specific education requirement; 3-6 months training or experience preferred
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Driver's license may be required; forklift certification may be required

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties
• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
• Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
• Perform repetitive tasks
• Maintain clean work area
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
• Take direction and respond to supervision
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner
• Fill in during staff shortage
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items
• Use proper personal protective equipment
• Present a professional appearance and conduct
• Understand customer service and satisfaction
• Drive to various work locations, customer sites, or company facilities as needed
• Understand reporting systems, and of the environment
