Job summary

Great Lakes Academy is seeking a reliable part-time evening Custodian to join our team in Pontiac, a K-8 public charter school with over 20 years of service. The ideal candidate will keep classrooms and common areas clean and safe for students and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior custodial or cleaning experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning materials and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors and surfaces.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and common areas regularly.
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with recycling guidelines.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report shortages to management.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of facilities for events, meetings, and special occasions.
• Follow safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a clean and safe environment.
• Report maintenance issues and damages to the supervisor promptly.
• Perform additional cleaning tasks as assigned by management.
