Job summary

Waterville-Elysian-Morristown High School is seeking an Evening Custodian to maintain cleanliness and safety across classrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas. The role supports after-hours events and requires physical tasks, including lifting and ladder access.

Starting pay range is $15.55–$20.10 per hour with a generous benefits package and shift differential. Schedule is 1:30 PM–9:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with overtime on game nights and some weekends.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to climb an 8-foot step ladder and/or up to a height 12-feet.
• Assumes responsibility for the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the school and its site.
• Cleans classrooms, offices, hallways, entryways, restrooms, and other common areas of the school on a regular basis and after events.
• Dusts, cleans, sanitizes surfaces within the school including, but not limited to: windows, ledges, desks, tables, countertops.
• Performs specialized cleaning at certain times of the year including, but not limited to: stripping and waxing floors.
• Complies with health and safety codes, including OSHA standards.
• Sets up furniture and equipment (tables, chairs, bleachers, risers, etc.) for community use and school events.

Responsibilities

• Dusts, cleans, and sanitizes surfaces within the school, including windows, ledges, desks, tables, and countertops.
• Maintains cleanliness of classrooms, offices, hallways, entryways, restrooms, and other common areas.
• Cleans after events and regular duties as scheduled.
• Cleans and maintains floors; may strip and wax floors seasonally.
• Sets up furniture and equipment for community use and school events.
• Complies with health and safety codes and OSHA standards.
