Job summary

Coastal Building Maintenance is seeking a reliable Custodial Supervisor in Burlington, VT to oversee our evening custodial operations. You will lead a team of custodians, ensure clean, safe, and well-maintained facilities, and help safeguard our professional image for employees and visitors.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, inspecting sanitation standards, training and mentoring, managing supplies and equipment, scheduling shifts, and supporting safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of custodial or janitorial experience, with 1+ year in a supervisory role preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical cleaning tasks as required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the work of evening custodial staff.
• Inspect facilities to ensure cleaning and sanitation standards are met.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate team members.
• Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment inventory; submit purchase requests as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety and security procedures.
• Assist in scheduling, shift coverage, and performance management.
• Perform custodial duties as needed to support the team.
