Job summary

City of Santa Fe Springs is seeking an experienced evening custodial supervisor to lead the night crew in a California school facility. Under the Plant Operations Supervisor, you will direct, train, and schedule work to meet standards and safety requirements while responding to queries during the evening use of the school.

You will perform minor maintenance, secure the building, oversee cleaning, report conditions, and ensure proper records and coordination with the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent and 3 years of custodial experience with lead supervision.
• Experience performing minor maintenance in a school setting.
• Ability to supervise, direct, and train a custodial team and coordinate with the Plant Operations Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Direct and guide night custodians; assign special work as needed.
• Coordinate scheduling with Plant Operations Supervisor for evening shifts.
• Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, hallways, dining areas and common spaces.
• Inspect facilities and report unsafe or unsatisfactory conditions.
• Secure and monitor the school premises during evening hours; assist visitors as needed.
• Perform minor maintenance (e.g., door hardware, lights, repairs) and remove graffiti.
