Job summary

MultiCare Health System in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Crisis Therapist to join the Behavioral Health team. This role provides crisis intervention and evaluation and coordinates referrals for inpatient or outpatient care. You will support safety planning and screenings for patients with substance use issues.

The position is 0.8 FTE with Evening shifts, Monday–Thursday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. A Master’s degree and HB 1724 credential are required, with prior crisis experience preferred and a valid

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field.
• A Mental Health Professional credential as defined by HB 1724.
• Previous crisis experience preferred.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including nights.
• Driver's License/Abstract.

Responsibilities

• Manage the mental and emotional health of each consumer in coordination with allied providers.
• Complete risk assessments for consumers.
• Develop safety plans with consumers and their supports.
• Screen and refer patients with drug and/or alcohol problems.
• Coordinate ongoing inpatient psychiatric care for voluntary patients.
• Facilitate requests to the Designated Crisis Responder for involuntary detentions when indicated.
• Represent MultiCare Health System and Behavioral Healthcare to community groups or individuals.
