Job summary

St. Joseph's Villa is seeking an Evening Behavior Specialist to join our Crisis Service team. Under supervision of the Program Manager-Operations for Crisis Services or designee, the Behavior Specialist works with children ages 5–17 in Crisis Services programs at St Joseph’s Villa.

Crisis Services includes both the Crisis Receiving Center (CRC) and the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU). Specific responsibilities include delivery of treatment services outlined in the individual’s Service Plan in

Qualifications

• Knowledge of professional psycho-educational techniques and awareness of needs of children in crises
• Ability to make independent decisions and establish effective working relationships with individuals, families and community
• Ability to utilize community resources effectively
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

• Participates as an active member in a team approach to service delivery
• Attends all-staff meetings, weekly treatment team meetings, and related events
• Develops and implements safety and service plans based on individual needs
• Uses behavior management and trauma-informed care techniques with clients in crisis
• Plans psycho-educational services and therapeutic activities for individuals or groups
• Maintains documentation per state licensing and professional accreditation standards
• Transports and escorts individuals between Crisis Services when appropriate
• Participates in progress/evaluation reports and supports families with home strategies
• Performs other duties as assigned
