Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED and at least 1-2 years of experience in youth program supervision and administration.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage evenings and weekend programs.
• Supervise all evening and weekend staff, activity leaders, and interns.
• Coordinate recruitment and outreach of Cornerstone participants.
• Provide on-site crisis intervention when programs are in operation.
• Ensure smooth program operation, including maintenance and security concerns.
• Monitor equipment and supplies; ensure repairs and stocking as needed.
• Attend agency-wide trainings and meetings.
• Assist in facilitating program activities and events.
• Lead staff meetings and trainings.
• Attend community Tenant board meetings.
• Manage Youth Council and advisory board meetings.
• Supervise weekend programming.
• Assist in staff hiring with Program Director.
• Coordinate with DYCD/DOH/NYCHA and collect statistics.
• Create monthly and weekly schedules for participants.
• Create and implement adult activities.

Position Summary:

The Evening Coordinator supports the daily operations, planning, and scheduling of the Cornerstone Evening & Weekend Program. This role is essential in fostering a community center environment that is inclusive, welcoming, and responsive to the needs of children, youth, and families. The Coordinator ensures a continuum of services and youth development opportunities by overseeing program delivery, supervising staff and interns, and contributing to the overall development and growth of the program..

WORK SCHEDULE:

• School-Year: Monday-Friday 6:00 P.M-10:00 P.M, Saturday 10:00 P.M -3:00 P.M- (25 hours a week)
• Summer:Monday-Friday, 6:00 PM-11:00 P.M., Saturday orSunday 5:00 PM-11:00 P.M (31 Hours a week)

Pay Rate
$22.00-$24.00 Per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the coordination and day-to-day management of evenings, Saturday, and Sunday programs.
• Supervision of all evening and weekend group leaders, activity specialists, part-time program aids, and interns.
• Coordinate, recruit, and outreach of all High school and Adult Cornerstone participants.
• Providing on-site crisis intervention when the program is in operation.
• Ensure the smooth operation of the program within the building, including responding to specific maintenance and security concerns.
• Monitor and inventory the use of equipment and supplies to ensure the equipment is repaired when necessary and that adequate supplies are maintained.
• Attend agency-wide training and meetings.
• Assist in the facilitation of program activities and special events.
• Assist in the facilitation of ongoing staff meetings and trainings.
• Attend community Tenant board meetings.
• Facilitate and manage Youth Council and advisory board meetings.
• Available to supervise weekend programming.
• In consultation with the Program Director, participate in the hiring of staff members.
• Assist in the Oversight of ongoing work with DYCD, DOH, and NYCHA.
• Assist in the coordination and collection & summary of statistical information.
• Perform other programmatic duties as assigned.
• Create monthly and weekly schedules for evening and weekend participants to follow
• Create and implement adult activities.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience in childcare, education, or youth development preferred
• HS Diploma or GED and at least 1-2 years of experience in youth program supervision and administration.
• Must have at least 2 years of supervisory experience
• Strong administrative & supervisory skills in a youth development program.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Must be able to engage in behavior management activities and demonstrate, lead, and teach a range of group activities.
• Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based and/or youth development perspective.
• Must be available for weekend training requirements.
