Job summary

Flatbush Development Corporation in Brooklyn is seeking an Evening Coordinator to support the Cornerstone Evening & Weekend Program. You will help plan, schedule, and supervise evening and weekend activities, ensuring a safe, inclusive environment for youth and families.

The role requires coordinating staff, interns, and volunteers, maintaining equipment and supplies, and collaborating with the Program Director on hiring and program development.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent in childcare, education, or youth development preferred.
• HS Diploma or GED and 1–2 years of youth program supervision/administration experience.
• Must have at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Strong administrative and supervisory skills in a youth development program.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the coordination and day-to-day management of evenings, Saturday, and Sunday programs.
• Supervision of all evening and weekend group leaders, activity specialists, part-time program aids, and interns.
• Coordinate, recruit, and outreach of all High school and Adult Cornerstone participants.
• Provide on-site crisis intervention when the program is in operation.
• Ensure smooth operation of the program within the building, addressing maintenance and security concerns.
• Monitor and inventory equipment and supplies; ensure repairs and adequate stock.
• Attend agency-wide training and meetings.
• Assist in facilitation of program activities and events.
• Assist in staff meetings and trainings.
• Attend community Tenant board meetings.
• Facilitate Youth Council and advisory board meetings.
• Available to supervise weekend programming.
• Assist in hiring staff in consultation with the Program Director.
• Assist in coordination with DYCD, DOH, and NYCHA.
• Collect and summarize statistical information.
• Create monthly and weekly schedules for evening/weekend participants.
• Create and implement adult activities.

Position Summary:

The Evening Coordinator supports the daily operations, planning, and scheduling of the Cornerstone Evening & Weekend Program. This role is essential in fostering a community center environment that is inclusive, welcoming, and responsive to the needs of children, youth, and families. The Coordinator ensures a continuum of services and youth development opportunities by overseeing program delivery, supervising staff and interns, and contributing to the overall development and growth of the program..

WORK SCHEDULE:

• School-Year: Monday-Friday 6:00 P.M-10:00 P.M, Saturday 10:00 P.M -3:00 P.M- (25 hours a week)
• Summer:Monday-Friday, 6:00 PM-11:00 P.M., Saturday orSunday 5:00 PM-11:00 P.M (31 Hours a week)

Pay Rate
$22.00-$24.00 Per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the facilitation of ongoing staff meetings and trainings.
• Attend community Tenant board meetings.
• Facilitate and manage Youth Council and advisory board meetings.
• Available to supervise weekend programming.
• In consultation with the Program Director, participate in the hiring of staff members.
• Assist in the Oversight of ongoing work with DYCD, DOH, and NYCHA.
• Assist in the coordination and collection & summary of statistical information.
• Perform other programmatic duties as assigned.
• Create monthly and weekly schedules for evening and weekend participants to follow
• Create and implement adult activities.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience in childcare, education, or youth development preferred
