Job summary

Marvin is seeking an Evening Controls Technician to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems on production equipment, including PLC controls. The role requires ladder logic proficiency with Allen-Bradley platforms, documentation in EAM, and collaboration with the CEPG on machine improvements at our Kansas City facility.

A sign-on bonus of $5,000 is offered along with benefits starting day one. Training on the day shift for up to 2 months precedes transition to evenings.

Qualifications

• 2-years experience in a closely related role
• Associate’s degree in a technical-related field preferred
• Must obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses
• Experience with Enterprise Asset Management software and Microsoft Office required

Responsibilities

• Observe equipment to detect hazards and issues and determine service or replacement needs.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic components and PLCs.
• Document repairs and preventive maintenance in the work order system (EAM).
• Back up PLC programs and maintain system performance under operating conditions.
• Collaborate with CEPG on machine improvements and provide PLC support across the plant.

Job Overview:

The Evening Controls Technician will assume advanced tasks relating to the production machines and will troubleshoot all electrical and Mechanical problems on equipment, including PLC controls. This position is responsible foranalyzing equipment to troubleshoot problems and making any necessary repairs to electrical,mechanicalor PLC programming changes related to production reliability.

*This position will train on the day shift for up to 2 months before transitioning into the evening shift.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Thursday (OT on Fridays as needed)

Highlights of your role:

• Observesfunctioningof installed equipment to detecthazards ,problems and the need for service,repairand/or replacement of electrical and mechanical components.
• Proficiently use ladder logic programming with experience in the Allen Bradleyplatform basedprogramming, including RS Logix 500 and 5000.
• Work efficiently withworkorder system (EAM) to document repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the plant.
• Traces problems using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Discusses performance issues and improvement ideas with pertinent technical staff.
• Maintains backups of programs from all electrical devices.
• Checks newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
• Use basic Servo Controls (open and closed loop systems) and set up variable frequencydriveoperations and parameters.
• Perform basic motor operation and troubleshooting on Servo motors, brushed DC motors, and Induction motors.
• Works closely with the Custom Equipment Process Group (CEPG) on machine improvements.
• Will have the skills toproperly usea digital multimeter.
• Works closely with maintenance andis able toassistwith troubleshooting electrical problems and able to providePLC-supportacross the plant.
• Concisely and accuratelydocumentsset-pointsand parameters for equipment.
