Job summary

Amphenol Industrial Operations in Endicott, NY is seeking a skilled Second Shift CNC Machinist to setup, operate, troubleshoot and optimize Tsugami Swiss Lathes with Fanuc controllers to meet engineering specs. This role supports production efficiency, quality initiatives and continuous improvement as the facility expands.

Hours will be 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Candidates should have 3+ years of CNC machining experience, read blueprints, and use precision measuring tools.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficiency using precision measuring instruments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machining centers, lathes (Tsugami Swiss Lathe), and related equipment.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.
• Perform tool changes, fixture setup, offset adjustments, and program edits as needed.
• Verify dimensions using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges.
• Monitor machine performance and identify opportunities to improve cycle times, quality, and throughput.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality teams to resolve problems.
• Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Support new product introductions, process development, and production ramp-up activities.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records.
• Follow all safety requirements, operating procedures, and company policies.
• Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
