Job summary

The Cypress of Charlotte is seeking a compassionate CNA to join our full-time 2nd shift team in Charlotte, NC. You will assist residents with daily living activities, monitor wellbeing, and support meals and mobility needs in a resort-style Life Plan Community.

Responsibilities include responding to call lights, documenting care, taking vital signs upon admission, and ensuring clean, orderly rooms while upholding safety and dignity. Valid NC CNA license and CPR certification required.

Qualifications

• Valid NC CNA license and completion of training course.
• First Aid/CPR certified.
• Minimum two years of experience.
• Experience in skilled nursing facilities, geriatrics, and with Dementia and Alzheimer's preferred.
• Ability to observe changes in a resident’s condition and to act as required for total care.
• Demonstrate understanding, patience, tact, respect, and courtesy in dealing with residents, family, and visitors.
• Proficient skills and knowledge of CNA duties and responsibilities.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend written and oral instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with activities of daily living, including toileting, bathing, shaving, dressing, grooming, and eyewear/hearing devices.
• Respond promptly to all call lights and requests for assistance from residents.
• Assist with meal services, including distribution of trays, set up of tray, assistance with eating, and distribution of snack items.
• Properly document all ADL flow records, bowel/bladder function, sheet changes, meal intake, and intake/output.
• Obtain resident vitals and weight upon admission and provide orientation to new members.
• Maintain resident rooms in a clean and orderly condition, with beds made and toiletries organized.
• Provide range of motion exercises for assigned residents per guidelines and document accordingly.
• Assist with activities related to cognitive engagement for dementia residents.
• Engage residents in reminiscence activities.

Education

NC CNA license

First Aid/CPR certified
