Job summary

Arizona Department of Child Safety in Phoenix, AZ seeks a DCS Program Supervisor - Welcome Center to manage a team of specialists and support staff focused on child safety services. The role supervises workflow, guides case assessment and placement, and ensures compliance with department policies.

The position requires leadership experience, relevant degrees, and a strong background in child welfare principles. Evening shifts and on-site work in Phoenix are included in the role.

Qualifications

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, AND three (3) years of experience with the Arizona Department of Child Safety.
• OR Master’s or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, AND two (2) years of combined experience in DCS Specialist Trainee/ Specialist roles, AND six (6) months of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Directs, supervises and instructs direct reports according to policies.
• Reviews work products and analyzes facts obtained by DCS specialists to ensure child safety and compliance.
• Interviews and trains staff within the unit; develops work schedules.
• Meets monthly with employees to discuss performance and completes evaluations.
• Responds to questions from customers and stakeholders regarding policy and procedures.
• Attends management meetings and contributes to problem-solving and decision-making.
• Produces reports and performs other duties as assigned.
