Job summary

Salt Lake Community College is seeking a dedicated Custodian for our Child Care location, working 1:30 pm–10:00 pm Mon–Thu and 12:00 pm–8:30 pm Fri. You will help maintain a safe, clean environment and interact with children and staff as part of daily routines.

Responsibilities include supervising children as needed, assisting teachers, cleaning classrooms and common areas, and complying with licensing rules. You’ll need a friendly demeanor and the ability to pass a background check and TB test.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and do basic arithmetic.
• Pass a criminal background check.
• TB test required after offer.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Interact with children, parents and staff in a positive, respectful way.
• Perform custodial duties to keep the center clean, sanitary and safe.
• Sanitize diaper changing areas, toys and equipment.
• Assist classrooms and support teacher breaks or substitute as needed.
• Follow classroom routines and supervision under licensing rules.
• Adhere to OSHA and ISSA safety guidelines.
• Assist with snow removal and winter maintenance as needed.
• Attend staff meetings and complete required training hours.
