Job summary

A local caregiving organization is seeking a compassionate caregiver in DeLand, Florida to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include assisting with personal hygiene tasks, meal preparation, and ensuring safety in the home. The ideal candidate will have a valid driver's license, one year of caregiving experience, and a high school diploma. This role is independent contractor-based and offers $15 per hour, with a schedule from Monday to Friday, 4 PM to 7 PM.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license is required.
• Must be able to pass Local and Level 2 Background Screening.
• Proven 1 year of caregiving experience or technical training required.
• Candidates must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Encourage and support the individual during home activities.
• Assist with personal hygiene tasks.
• Meal preparation and light cleaning.
• Ensure individual's safety and maintain a safe living environment.
• Facilitate community involvement by accompanying individual to social events.
• Promote communication, choice, independence, and socialization.
• Complete daily progress notes.
