Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College is seeking a part-time campus security professional for the Anderson/Greenfield campuses. The role focuses on protecting people, assets, and property, with evening shifts and approximately 12 hours per week across three evenings.

Responsibilities include post order adherence, incident reporting, access control, and providing directions and assistance to students and visitors. CPR/First Aid/AED certifications are required within three weeks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid Indiana driver’s license and ability to be insured by the college.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to observe, decide and report clearly.
• Willingness to work outside in all weather and hours.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to campus post orders.
• Provide strong customer service and student advocacy.
• Maintain an inclusive campus environment.
• Provide security for buildings and grounds including parking lots.
• Assist students and visitors with directions and information.
• Lock/unlock doors as required and direct traffic when needed.
• Complete incident reports and submit to the Dean of Safety & Preparedness.
• Respond to fire alarms and coordinate with Facilities and responders.
• Follow Emergency Response Guide and Emergency Operations Plan.
• Serve as evening emergency response coordinator and lead campus emergency responses.
• Assist in removing or restraining unruly individuals.
• Maintain confidentiality of information and complete required forms.
• Interact professionally with employees, students, visitors, and responders.
• Input crime reporting data and assist with access control software.
