Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College is seeking a part-time security position at the Greenfield/Anderson campus to protect people, assets, and property. Responsibilities include patrolling campus, assisting students and visitors, and documenting security incidents.

Requires a high school diploma or GED, Indiana driver’s license, and ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing. Applicants must be able to work evenings, stand or walk for extended periods, and respond to emergencies as required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Current, non-restricted Indiana Driver’s license.
• Able to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Skilled in observing situations and decision making.
• Able to work outside in all kinds of weather.
• Able to stand, walk, run and move for long periods.
• Willing to work long, irregular hours and rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide security for Ivy Tech campus buildings and grounds.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with facilities and local responders.
• Complete incident reports and maintain confidentiality.
• Direct traffic and assist students and visitors.
• Input crime reporting data and manage access control software.
