Job summary

Gateway Community & Technical College seeks a Facilities Worker II to maintain buildings and grounds and ensure a safe, clean learning environment at the Edgewood Campus.

Responsibilities include custodial tasks, routine maintenance, room setup for events, groundskeeping, and operating light equipment. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and one year of relevant experience; shift is Monday–Friday, 2:15 pm–10:15 pm.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of relevant experience.
• Ability to communicate using auditory and visual methods; color discrimination.
• Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds; close vision required.
• Must work independently and have reliable transportation.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, adaptable to fast-paced environments.
• Ability to engage with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Performs custodial duties and cleans assigned areas per schedule.
• Moves and sets up furniture and equipment for room configurations.
• Replaces light bulbs, ceiling tiles, etc.; performs minor repairs as needed.
• Provides general maintenance and assists in more technical repairs.
• Maintains grounds and keeps walkways clear of debris, snow, and ice.
• Operates forklift and/or lawn equipment as required.
• Assists in set-up during special events.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
