Job summary

New York Institute of Technology is seeking a Cleaner for the Long Island campus. The role operates Monday–Friday, 5:00 PM – 1:00 AM, performing routine custodial duties to maintain a safe, clean environment under the NYIT policy framework.

Responsibilities include disinfecting buildings, floor care, equipment cleaning, and supplies replenishment, with adherence to the Collective Bargaining Agreement and safety standards. Competitive benefits and tuition remission are offered.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Previous professional cleaning experience required.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, bend and stoop, climb a six-foot ladder, and work in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect buildings, manage trash and recycling.
• Sweep, mop, and scrub surfaces manually and with equipment.
• Clean light fixtures and sanitize surfaces and fixtures.
• Restock bathroom supplies and maintain restrooms.
