Job summary

Charles County Public Schools seeks an Evening Shift Building Service Assistant Manager to supervise night staff, coordinate facility use and ensure safety, cleanliness and security of school buildings.

A high school diploma and 1+ year of experience are required; applicants should read and write well, have basic HVAC knowledge, strong communication skills, dependable transportation, and willingness to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• One or more years of experience required.
• Ability to read and write effectively.
• Physically capable of performing manual labor.
• Good verbal communications and human relation skills.
• Basic knowledge of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
• Demonstrated supervisory ability.
• Willingness to work overtime as required in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Cleans bathrooms, floors, walls, ceilings and fixtures; replaces supplies as required.
• Collects and transports trash in large receptacles.
• Performs seasonal outdoor tasks and snow/ice removal.
• Receives, unloads and locates school supplies manually.
• Evaluates and trains night staff; secures building after hours.
• Schedules building service activities to avoid after-school conflicts.
• Coordinates facility use for events and meetings as directed.
• Assists staff and students to support school goals.
• Advises on repairs and maintenance needs; follows up on issues.
• Maintains logs and records; performs minor repairs as resources allow.
• Inspects facilities to ensure safety, sanitation and security standards.
• Recommends disciplinary action when performance is unsatisfactory.
• Performs related duties as needed for normal operations.
