Job summary

The City of Lakewood is hiring a part-time basketball scorekeeper to support adult recreation leagues. Prior scorekeeping knowledge is preferred. The role is seasonal/temporary and pays $18.00 per hour.

Work hours are evenings, with shifts typically 6:00pm–10:30pm. Responsibilities include setting up the court, operating the electronic scoreboard, maintaining scorebooks, and supervising participants. CPR and First Aid certifications are required; the position emphasizes safety, reliability and

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Experience in scorekeeping or coaching is preferred.
• Must understand basketball rules and game procedures.
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as scheduled.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and ensure the playing area is ready for use and safe.
• Operate an electric scoreboard and accurately record points and game time.
• Enter results into the official scorebook and submit paperwork to supervisor.
• Supervise participants and maintain a safe, respectful environment.
• Respond to minor injuries or emergencies as needed.
• Act as liaison between participants, staff, and the City.
