Job summary

Saint Luke's is seeking a friendly Barista/Food Service Worker to join our hospital cafe team in Kansas City. You will prepare iced and hot beverages, serve pastries and gelato, and educate customers about our offerings with warm, personalized service.

Shifts run Monday through Friday, 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM, with time split between kitchen support and the coffee shop. You will operate the POS, handle cash, and help with closing duties before midnight.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year experience in food service or barista roles.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.
• Friendly, attentive customer service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Proficiently prepares drinks following orders and recipes.
• Brews drip coffee fresh and replenishes varieties.
• Cleans and sanitizes workstations and seating areas.
• Handles cash, rings sales, and counts change accurately.
• Greets customers and builds rapport with names and preferences.
• Restocks shelves with FIFO rotation.
• Operates kitchen duties during the first half of shift.
• Counts register and completes closing checklist.
