Job summary

Energy Trust of Oregon is seeking an Evaluation Data Analyst in the Portland area to manage and analyze data for evaluations, market research and savings claims. You’ll own core data definitions and work with IT, planning and operations to improve data systems.

The role involves designing and managing quantitative and qualitative evaluations, coordinating with contractors on RFPs, and presenting findings to program staff and leadership. Office presence is quarterly with flexible location options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
• 2–3 years hands-on experience in data science, data analysis, program evaluation or market research.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of SQL; experience with Transact-SQL preferred.
• Proficiency in R or Python and Excel/Power BI.
• Ability to collaborate across teams in a diverse environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct descriptive and statistical analyses and market research for evaluation projects.
• Acquire, develop, manage, integrate, analyze, and visualize datasets to support information needs.
• Collaborate with Planning and Evaluation, Operations Analyst, and IT to improve data systems.
• Own data definitions, documentation, quality, security, and value across the org.
• Own product data and product maintenance processes.
• Design and manage market research and evaluation projects, including research design and timeline.
• Lead RFP processes and manage contractors for market research projects.
• QC external and internal reporting and prepare ad hoc/regular reports.
• Read and comment on market research and evaluation reports.
• Deliver training in data analysis and visualization to staff.
• Present results and implications to stakeholders.
