EV Prototype Test Driver — Cross-Border Field Testing

Job summary

TSMG is seeking experienced Vehicle Test Drivers to support EV prototype testing in the US and Canada ahead of North American market launch. You will drive prototypes on predefined routes, visit EV charging stations to test availability, and verify charging processes alongside a client-side engineer.

Responsibilities include recording issues, following testing procedures, and traveling as required across the region including cross-border assignments.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and strong driving experience.
• Clear MVR for the past 5 years.
• Clean criminal background check.
• Experience in automotive testing, mapping, data collection, or similar field projects.
• Experience with Electric Vehicles (EVs) strongly preferred.
• Comfortable with extensive travel and being away from home for the full duration of the project.
• Comfortable working alongside engineers and following detailed testing procedures.
• Basic technical and smartphone/app skills.
• Willing to complete drug screening and participate in random alcohol testing where required.
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Drive prototype EVs on predefined routes across the assigned region.
• Visit selected EV charging stations (EVCS).
• Check charging station availability through the vehicle/app.
• Connect the vehicle to charging stations and verify charging process functionality.
• Record and report any issues or unexpected behavior.
• Follow predefined testing procedures and routes.
• Work closely with a client-side engineer during testing.
• Travel as required throughout the project, including cross-border travel US/Canada.
• Maintain a high level of care and responsibility when operating prototype vehicles.
