Job summary

Crash Champions is hiring at one of its New Jersey locations for a collision repair technician. You will examine damaged vehicles, plan repairs, and communicate status with teammates to keep repairs on schedule.

You will perform quality body repairs, decide on repairs versus replacements, and access sites using power tools and hand tools. The role requires knowledge of repair processes, possible I-CAR welding certification, and the ability to supervise apprentices when needed.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a frame machine and performing body repairs.
• Certification in body repair preferred by the employer.
• Knowledge of manufacturer repair procedures for vehicles.
• I-CAR welding certification is desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret measuring data for alignment.
• Ability to supervise and guide repair personnel.
• Must be able to pass a thorough background check.

Responsibilities

• Examines damaged vehicle and efficiently plans repair process.
• Works and communicates with others on vehicle repair status.
• Performs quality repairs while keeping on-time status in mind.
• Makes decisions on repair vs. replace considering safety, cost, and cycle time.
• Removes upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window equipment, and trim to access vehicle and fenders.
• Participates in all required safety meetings.
• Files, grinds, and sands repaired surfaces using power and hand tools.
• Directs the work of an apprentice when needed and explains procedures.
• Ensures work adheres to safety and quality standards.
