Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Louisville, KY is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to support the LAP EV launch and future vehicle builds. You will ensure readiness of metrology tools, lead quality improvements, and drive warranty containment actions across the Body Shop.

The role emphasizes Six Sigma-based problem solving, data-driven decision making, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering, supplier, and quality teams to improve R/1000 and overall vehicle quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; 5+ years of experience in body shop manufacturing, launch, or quality engineering.
• Working knowledge of body construction processes, tooling, metrology systems (e.g., Eines), and error-proofing methods.
• Experience with Six Sigma, root cause/corrective action, 8D, and VRT processes.

Responsibilities

• Confirm manufacturing tool and facility readiness for EV launch and vehicle builds.
• Lead quality improvement items to support build targets and drive R/1000 reductions.
• Review daily Vehicle Warranty for proper binning and coordinate containment actions.
• Support development of quality roadmaps and containment actions to meet VFG objectives.
• Conduct process development and production sheet updates and support tool, equipment, and facility changes.
